Accessibility statement.

What we've done, what's still in progress, and how to flag issues.

Our commitment

Pearl is committed to making our website and services accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe that everyone — regardless of ability — deserves equal access to information about our services and the ability to contact us.

We are continually working to improve the accessibility of our digital presence, and we welcome feedback from users who encounter barriers.

Conformance status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG 2.1 defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities — users who are blind or have low vision, deaf or hard of hearing, have limited mobility, or have cognitive disabilities.

Our website is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We are actively working to address known gaps and improve overall conformance.

Measures we have taken

  • Included accessibility as a consideration throughout the design and development process.
  • Used semantic HTML elements to provide meaningful structure for assistive technologies.
  • Ensured sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background across the site.
  • Provided descriptive alt text for all meaningful images and icons.
  • Ensured all interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) are keyboard-accessible and have visible focus indicators.
  • Used ARIA labels and roles where necessary to support screen readers.
  • Designed forms with clear labels, error messages, and instructions.
  • Tested the site with keyboard-only navigation to identify and resolve navigation barriers.
  • Ensured that text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
  • Avoided content that flashes more than three times per second to prevent seizure triggers.

Known limitations

We strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. Some areas remain in progress; we are aware of the following and actively addressing them:

  • Certain third-party embedded content (such as forms powered by external services) may not fully conform; we are working with our providers to improve this.
  • Some older or dynamically generated content may have incomplete ARIA annotations; we are auditing and improving these on an ongoing basis.

Technical specifications

Accessibility of the Pearl website relies on the following technologies:

  • HTML5

  • JavaScript (React / Next.js)
  • WAI-ARIA
